Description
An innovative prototype tunable CO2 laser system with subnanosecond pulse duration and high peak power will be built and delivered for experiments on double-resonance remote sensing of gaseous chemical agents being conducted at the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC). Such a laser is critical for these experiments. The double-resonance technique offers a new and improved method for unambiguously identifying gaseous molecules with higher signal-to-noise ratio than other methods.
