Description
In Phase I, Alphacore will be already performing some of the most critical tests on ON Semiconductor 180nm test structures that are currently being developed and will be fabricated on our next (May 2019) scheduled engineering wafer run that will also have two complete 256 x 256 cryogenic digital ROICs (DROICs) on it. In Phase I, in addition to the test results and PDK models for the On Semi 180nm process, Alphacore will deliver test chip design and design of experiments matrix specifying design rules to be obtained for the selected processes. Alphacore will be teaming with Dr. Hugh Barnaby’s group from the Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Barnaby is one of the most well-known CMOS radiation-effect researchers in the world, with more than 200 published articles in the field. This topic is an excellent match to the proposing group’s capabilities. As mentioned, Dr. Barnaby has been working in this field for two decades, and Alphacore has been developing radiation hard mixed-signal and imaging electronics for more than five years. This includes cryogenic, radiation-hard, DROICs in two ongoing MDA SBIR programs. As a result of these programs, Alphacore already has test chips available in the ON-Semiconductor 180nm process.
