Description

Using design thinking and a design-based research method, the C5T team will determine if it is feasible to design and develop an application that allows the AF and larger Joint C2 community to rapidly assemble geographically-separated teams for multi-domain operations and resource them with the tools required to conduct effective strategic collaboration in a virtual environment. Design principles that should inform the design of such an interface will be identified and the feasibility of continuing to develop and test a prototype in Phase II will be evaluated. Feasibility will be based on a combined determination of expected value, anticipated ability to meet development targets, and team capability within available funding limits. Specific metrics for use in feasibility determination will be identified through interviews, surveys, and concept development review sessions. The project will result in a list of initial design principles and an assessment of their feasibility to support the Air Force’s vision. Identified design principles are anticipated to be useful to the general game design audience and support commercialization of the phase II outcome for the AF as well as development and commercialization of similar products across a broad government and commercial customer base.
