Description
In this SBIR, Caliola will develop an innovative navigation solution that exploits satellite communication (SATCOM) signals of opportunity (SOP) from whatever military and/or commercial satellites are in view of an interceptor or mobile sensor. The strength of our proposed approach lies in the sheer number of potential SOPs. While it is conceivable that a near-peer adversary could disable GPS access within a given theater, simultaneously denying all available SATCOM signals is simply infeasible. In addition to the dozens of available military SATCOM signals, our innovative solution could exploit SOPs from the 42,000 StarLink satellites, or from other emerging proliferated low-Earth orbit constellations.
