Description
GreenSight proposes OsmoAPU, a compact, drop-in 15 kW generator unit for the Polaris MRZR-Alpha vehicle. Taking cutting edge motor technology from the aerospace and automotive industry, OsmoAPU provides unrivaled power density while remaining robust and easy to use. A brushless, axial-flux design allows for a flat, stackable design, utilizing more of the generator’s magnetic potential than any competing design. GreenSight’s extensive experience designing and building Halbach axial-flux motors and generators, as well as smart battery systems, provides a unique starting point for the design studies proposed here. During this Phase I Base period program, we will investigate different magnet and coil configurations of the generator to optimally provide the required power. We will also study the best combination of electrical components to meet the power output requirements in the most efficient way possible. In the Option, a complete detailed design of the OsmoAPU system will be developed.
