Description

The DAF has a national defense-related mission need in the area of Prenatal and Postpartum support for its Airmen. When faced with the many challenges of having a new child and the stresses of returning to physical readiness without proper support, too many Service Members decide to separate from the Air Force. Pear will partner with the Air Combat Command to research, test, evaluate, and adapt our commercially successful Pear Coaching Platform to digitize the already successful Pregnancy Rehabilitation & Reintegration Exercise Program (PRREP) and support their Airman Pregnancy and Postpartum Wellness Program (A3PW). The resulting platform will create a comprehensive postpartum support offering for pregnant Airmen regardless of where they are located and provide Airmen with ready access to the tools they need to optimize their health and fitness during and after pregnancy. This will ensure postpartum Airmen are ready to rejoin active duty and be ready to pass the Physical Fitness Test within 12 months of childbirth. The objective of this project is to build a scalable postpartum platform that will increase productivity, optimize health, and decrease absenteeism while maintaining a higher level of readiness by helping pregnant Airmen maintain a health and active lifestyle throughout the childbirth journey.
