Description
The current TUSW mission data reconstruction practice involves heterogeneous recording systems across multiple platforms. ASW event replay/reconstruction that utilize multiple platforms data is performed on-shore by organizations that have to collect, filter, consolidate and mediate the data in accordance to their unique reconstruction system causing human error and excessive, duplicate manpower producing similar capabilities. Worst yet, near-term mission and/or deployment benefits of lessons-learned is unattainable given the long timeline and geographic/organization workflows. The opportunity is to record and replay data consumed by USW-DSS, which has sources external to the destroyers CGs/DDGs and carriers CVNs installations, and to use the TACSIT display for reconstruction. This enables RIMPAC post-event replay/reconstruction for quick-look hotwash assessment, incorporating lessons learned into the next day’s event, or an event involving several weeks/months. The technical approach is to develop an Automated Record/Replay/Reconstruction (AR3) USW-DSS component by adapting Submarine deployed DDCS record/replay to meet USW-DSS TUSW mission data requirements, with additional record/replay capabilities required for reconstruction fidelity. Mission data is easily collected over a 180-day time period without burdensome IT administration and intervention. Replayer selection and data browser capabilities includes event tagged data and ML data streams to search for related scenarios.
