Description

In preparation for the challenges of modern combat scenarios, the US Army is seeking a next-generation Human Type Target (HTT) product line to enhance training capabilities and include more realistic portrayals of threat scenarios. One area of particular interest is full-body motion and collapse of the HTT when hit by a bullet. At the same time, this new system will need to withstand the live-fire environment over several thousand shots, be useable outside or inside in tight areas, and be able to be reset remotely. ADA Technologies developed elements of a realistic, articulated, durable, and configurable HTT in Phase I. The proposed Phase II project for the development of REACT (Realistic Engagement Advanced Combat Training) targets will include the construction of bullet- resistant whole-body HTTs delivering the fundamental realism needed to address multiple combat training scenarios. ADA will continue its teaming with an experienced military shooting instructor, Clinton Hoover of Black Skull Tactical. New Flesh Company will be a key subcontractor with the know-how to build full-scale, ballistic, composite-shaped body segments. Phase II will be a technology maturation step where the designs of collapsible human-like targets with bullet-resistant bodies, motorized and passive joints and target resetting platform will be demonstrated.
