Description
DHS CISA NRMC identified a problem relating to application of big data and advanced-research models. Specifically, the Advanced Circulation surge model is too computationally intensive, rendering ensemble forecasts too slow for usefulness. The ATS solution will resolve this challenge of intense, highly parallel computational workloads with big datasets, will allow the higher resolution ADCIRC ensemble forecasts to be calculated at speeds which are competitive with lower fidelity models.The Network Modeling Risk Assessment faces the same challenge with computing ADCIRC: the big data challenge is overwhelming, and the necessary compute power is required to render analysis that is useful. Especially if there is desire for real-time applications. Additionally, running multiple scenario models where the models intersect and cross-correlate amplifies the need for computational horse power.Existing CPU-based platforms that perform visualization and geospatial analysis are unable to deliver the fidelity or speed of the data plotting or analysis, and continuous evolutions of GPU-based technologies have existing capability to deliver for this project as well as scale for future applications with even greater data handling requirementsTeam ATS proposes to leverage the hardware/software architecture for analyzing complex, massive datasets and computationally intensive models for the network risk assessment use case. Leveraging the proposed innovation by ATS will allow organizations to deploy network failure scenarios, identify root causality and cascading, mutually reinforcing impacts across separately owned by interconnected systems.Our Network Risk Assessment Platform is applicable for commercial use of all critical technologies and attributes using open geospatial and other relevant standards.
