Description
This project will develop a Millimeterwave, low-power transceiver for secure, high-speed wireless data transfer between an aircraft cockpit and a ground terminal. The wireless transceiver will replace a cumbersome, unreliable data cable that is currently used for cockpit-to-ground communications. The transciver will be small enough to plug directly into the ports of the cockpit computer and ground terminal computer and will automatically establish communication between the cockpit and ground once the two nodes are within range of each other. The Phase I effort will include system modeling and benchtop component verification. Results of the simulation and testing will be used to fully define a Phase II prototype system.
