Description

Addressing cyber resiliency for Navy combat systems, such as AEGIS and SSDS, requires acute awareness of the impact that leveraging key cyber resiliency techniques and technologies will have on mission capabilities. The goal of cyber resiliency frameworks that support mission-critical systems are to minimize the time spent recovering and restoring a system from a cyber-attack and to maximize the time spent with full mission capabilities. In order to successfully endure, recover, and restore the system when faced with a cyber-attack, it is critical to have access to mission capability metrics as well as intimate awareness of the underlying system dependencies. IDT’s experience developing a virtualized AEGIS Weapons System has resulted in key insights into how a virtual combat system can take advantage of innovative virtualization concepts and still maintain the integrity of mission-critical capabilities. The robust technology provided by IDT’s ATRT suite of test and analysis tools will be a springboard for taking our innovative virtualization concepts, like Revolving Defense Attack Surface (RDAS), and wrapping that capability with Real-Time Risk Assessment (RRA) to deliver cyber resiliency enhancements that are tailored to the needs of a high-availability, mission-critical system.
