Description
Phoenix merges current state of the art inflatable soft structure technologies with extensive marine experience to demonstrate the Sea Water Inflated – Launch and Recovery System (SWI-LARS) concept as an enabling technology for the use of soft inflatable structures as components to undersea payload launch and recovery (L&R) system used in 21-inch diameter by 25-foot long tube. Based on experience with similar inflatable structures and with industry standard UUV launch and recovery methods, Phoenix combines engineering analytical methods and applied fabrication and testing processes to leverage the significant load-carrying capacity and high deployed-to-stowed volume ratio of inflatables in the SWI-LARS concept.
