Description
QIC proposes to develop the TEE-TEST, a quantitative analysis tool that enables researchers and acquisitions personnel to make informed decisions about the utility of new training technologies prior to their implementation. To develop the TEE-TEST, our team will develop a training efficiency framework that combines approaches to evaluating training and cost effectiveness based on established, evidence-based best practices. This framework will be tested by conducting comparative analyses of three training prototypes (AR, mobile, and game-based) developed over the course of this effort. The findings of this research will inform the final TEE-TEST as well as address the gap in evaluations of AR technology for training. We propose to use Naval aviation preflight checklist training as a domain for our TEE-TEST training development. In addition to being a well-suited domain for comparison across mobile, AR, and game-based platforms, preflight training checklist execution is a critical issue for Navy pilots.
