Description
Optimized training for advanced Navy systems requires a notable change in the learning paradigma training paradigm in which the training system assists the learner in an effort to enter and maintain an optimal brain learning state. The Curriculum for Accelerated Learning through Mindfulness (CALM) solution provides a pre-training mindfulness module that prepares the sailor for learning and a methodology to assess the flow state of learner throughout a contextually relevant naval learning experience using psychophysiological measures. The CALM solution includes the BaseCamp in which a trainees physiological state baseline is established, a Mindfulness Module that prepares the sailors brain for optimized and accelerated learning, the Testbed for Intelligent Tracking and Real-time Assessment of Trainee Engagement (TITRATE) physiological measurement suite and the Adaptive Driver to Augment Performance and Training (ADAPT) API. CALM addresses the Navys identified need for a computerized innovative interactive visual, audio, and kinesthetic training program that increases the speed of learning, comprehension, and performance aboard ships to better cross-train sailors quickly.
