Description
Scientists and engineers need robust and easy to implement software that enables them to more easily manage the creation of in situ data extracts, visualizations, and interactively steer their simulations. JMSI Inc d.b.a. Intelligent Light proposes to create “SCOREBOARD” - a new open source software offering consisting of a lightweight, flexible in situ library that performs limited computations inside the simulation and offloads more costly operations to an analysis endpoint program running on additional compute nodes. SCOREBOARD draws from VisIt/Libsim for efficient mesh-based data processing and extraction, and ADIOS for in transit data staging. SCOREBOARD’s GUI library is based upon the Uintah/VisIt Dashboards by Allen Sanderson @ the SCI Institute that provides a window to interactively display/edit simulation parameters and dynamically steer the simulation and in situ visualizations.
