Description
Interlog Corporation proposes to develop a new Hybrid In-Process Additive Manufacturing for Sonobuoy (HIPAMS) Technology that innovatively manufactures multiple-material components in a single additive manufacturing (AM) platform with nondestructive evaluation (NDE) capability. The HIPAMSs multiple-material AM capability also enables to build/integrate electrical components and interconnects within/with structural elements. The proposed HIPAMS produces complete-AM sonobuoy with various types of material in a single AM platform. This innovation is possible because it is based on Interlog's proprietary point-by-point AM technology. The HIPAMS will provide mass/cost savings, reduction in integration and test flow timelines, and increased overall systems reliability. In Phase I, Interlog Corporation will demonstrate HIPAMSs feasibility as a streamlined, in-process sonobuoy AM system with a functional prototype and computer analysis/simulations as TRL-4 (component and breadboard tests in a laboratory environment).
