Description
Howell Laboratories, Inc. (HLI) is proposing a seawater Electrolytic Chlorine Generator (ECG) and will leverage our considerable experience developing and qualifying ECGs for the Navy to meet the high integrity standards of submarine sea water systems, and environmental standards. The cost savings will be compared to the current cost of cleaning SSGNs and methods used on the Virginia class and is expected to offer significant cost savings by improving efficiency and incorporating reverse-polarity technology. <br>The ECG will consist of a two-piece design; an electrolytic cell and a controller. We recently proposed similar in-line ECG for the Ohio Replacement. This effort will expand that preliminary design to optimize efficiency and simplify the maintenance, control and user interface.
