Description
The primary objectives of this second Phase II are two fold: 1) further enhance the mathematical and operational features of both HDphysics and UWVF; and 2) develop the necessary user interface and GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces) to wrap both HDphysics and UWVF into a single integrated master GUI run environment that can perform either broadband (of the order of 1600 frequency cuts from a single run) or a single frequency computation depending on the type of problem and users choice. The GUI development will cover all aspects of the computational process: preprocessing (geometry import, repair, and mesh generation using HyPerComp developed CAD2Mesh); processing (HDphysics or UWVF solver engine); and postprocessing (nearfield and farfield data extraction and visualization, radar cross section (RCS) and antenna output characteristics (directivity, gain and loss). The end goal of this second Phase II effort is to transition the time-domain HDphysics and the frequency-domain UWVF codes from their current technology readiness level (TRL) of 2-3 (research tools) to a level of 7-8 in order to make them robust, user friendly, and ready for routine daily use by Army end-users and their contract support teams.
