Description

Mission Power will develop a whole house multi-port inverter allowing connection of multiple renewal devices for the whole house. The intent will be to provide a full power DC connection for any DC device to directly connect. Currently, almost every new solar installation, battery, wind turbine, or vehicle charger is a separate device with separate user interfaces and separate electrical requirements for connection. Power electronics are now inexpensive enough to build this whole-house system as a standard unit for both new homes and retrofits to ease the transition to solar power and all electrical devices. Mission Power (formerly Mission Drives) has an experienced management and technical team that is well suited to bringing this product into production. The team includes serious technical personnel well skilled in magnetic design, power electronics design, and simulation. Further, the team includes experienced manufacturing and business personnel motivated to get the product to production quickly. Mission Power is experienced with the SBIR program and received two DOE SBIR phase I awards in 2022. In 2022, Mission Power was awarded both: “Low-cost high frequency inverter for utility scale PV” and “Planar Magnetic Solution for Vehicle Chargers”. This program will leverage learning from these programs to maximize the performance and minimize the cost of the system.
