SBIR Award Search vs SBIR.gov: When to Use Each Tool
SBIR.gov is the official archive. SBIR Signal is the daily capture workbench. Here's when you need each for award search and competitive research.
If you only remember one thing: SBIR.gov is the official archive; SBIR Signal is the capture workbench. You often need both.
What “SBIR award search” actually means
Practitioners say “award search” for three different jobs:
- Lookup — who won what, for how much, under which topic.
- Competitive research — who dominates a tech domain or agency.
- Bid triage — which open topics fit my firm right now.
SBIR.gov is excellent at the first job when you need the deepest historical record. It is slower for the second and third. That is the gap SBIR Signal fills with a modern SBIR award search, winner leaderboard, and free top-3 capability match.
