Description
Electronically protected Digital Receiver Exciters are critical technologies necessary for modern radars to meet challenging DOD radar requirements. Due to previous developmental and acquisition decisions, current DOD radars are often tied to OEM development, production and business cycles. The deliverables on this SBIR phase II challenges the exclusivity of OEM strategies that are proprietary, not easily upgradable, resulting in very high acquisition and sustainability costs. The MPT development approach is to leverage trusted commercial processes, innovative design methodology and 100% transfer of IP to the government. The product on this program will demonstrate options available to the government for rapid, low cost and easily upgradable electronically protected DREX equipment. Recent developments in design options and commercial technology advancements offer DOD the opportunity to acquire low cost, technically advanced, sustainable and upgradable systems. The result is significant cost savings though competitively bidding subsystem capabilities that improve performance specifications and significantly reduce acquisition and sustainment costs.
