Description

For the MFP Phase II effort, ADI propose to build a compact low-power interference mitigation (IM) appliqu circuit for tactical handheld mobile wireless terminals operating in the 70MHz to 3GHz band that will mitigate very high levels of interference in congested and contested environments. The appliqu circuit design will be flexible enough to be modified to work with a wide variety of handheld terminals, e.g. AN/PRC-154A Rifleman Radio, FalconIII AN/PRC-159(V)1 and RF-7850M-HH, AN/PRC-148 MBITR, etc. with the mechanical sleeve design being completed in the Phase II option. ADI's IM appliqu circuit design will leverage: i) ADI's previous work since 2007 developing the MAGIC IM filter, ii) ADIs Phase II Base effort integrating the MAGIC filter into the Exelis SRW Soldier Radio-Rifleman (SR-R) waveform FPGA, iii) ADIs Phase I Mobile Force Protection effort, and iv) ADI's RIF contract for the software defined radio (SDR) based SeaLancet IM appliqu card. The MFP Phase II IM appliqu circuit will utilize an SDR consisting of a high resolution, zero IF transceiver (e.g. Analog Devices 9361, Lime Micro Systems 7002, etc.) coupled with a low power, high performance FPGA (e.g. Xilinx Zynq 7035, Altera Cyclone V, etc.) to separate the interference from the desired signal.
