Description
To address the Air Force’s need to provide onsite resources in time critical situations, Knight Aerospace proposes INTermodal Rocket CONtainer (INTRCON) as a low-cost inter-modal container that is suited for space transport of cargo. During this direct to Phase II effort, Knight Aerospace will design the INTRCON system with the capability to be transported via rocket and other critical transportation methods. This system will also include sub-container systems that can be deployed from the main INTRCON system to support a diverse set of payload delivery use cases. The goal of this effort is to enable the rapid logistics and mission planning to safely carry different types of cargo via rocket while reducing cost. At the end of the Phase II, Knight Aerospace will deliver an INTRCON prototype for further testing and evaluation. Based on system integration and testing with a rocket, Knight Aerospace will develop a plan for future production and commercialization of the INTRCON technology in Phase III.
