Description

The goal of this project is to design, produce, test and deliver Bomber Security in a Box (BSIB), a flyaway kit adaptation for securing the aircraft and its surroundings during ground operations in austere conditions (e.g., foreign partner-operated Forward Operating Locations, emergency diversions). BSIB will provide enhanced situational awareness and automated threat detection to the aircrew, giving them increased time and space to make a decision and remove the cognitive burden of continuous monitoring. Picogrid will deliver BSIB as an adaptation of the commercially-available Picogrid Platform through miniaturization for transportation in the physical space available in the aircraft, development of improved threat detection for ground-based objects and enabling global operational coverage. The mission impact of the project will be improved force protection effectiveness.
