Description

To address the critical challenge cited explained in SBIR Topic DHA213-006, PURioLABS proposes to deliver the PURitALL Desktop, a field-ready, portable sterilization cabinet that will perform the sterilization and drying treatments for surgical scopes and similar sensitive semi-critical medical devices. PURitALL Desktop can utilize many proven aspects of the recently released PURitALL 3030L and PURioLABS’ demonstrated multi-modal bioburden elimination technology. The technology has successfully proven efficacy via independent laboratories, is deployed as a mobile cabinet in hospital pilots and is acknowledged by leading U.S. epidemiologists as as innovative and promising.  The PURitALL germicidal delivery process achieves efficacy via low-temperature and low moisture combinations of sterilizing effects applied in prescribed layered methods within a short cycle time. Inside the cabinet enclosure, which can be sized to fit the desired application, a computer-controlled treatment protocol combines multiple microbe-degrading effects in synchronized applications to achieve rapid sterilization of surgical scopes while having no harsh chemicals or environmental impact and leaving behind no solid waste.   As multiple and different germicidal effects are applied at the proper amounts and times within a cycle, the treated devices are quickly relieved of living bioburden, are dried to touch, have no treatment residue, with no device damage, and a very, very low cost of operation. The technical challenges in delivering the Topic's desired specifications and performance will include research and development of added potency for higher bioburden levels across all expected pathogens, a lighter cabinet build, high field ruggedness and readiness, surgical scope adaptations for all expected scope attributes, ease-of-use, specific UI/UX, data storage and reporting and more.
