Description
As a new generation of Airmen enter the war-fighting space, their expectations for how technology should support them with accomplishing their missions and the actual technology that is made available to them has never been further apart. To address this problem, the velocity and culture in which technology is adopted and put in the hands of Airmen needs to change. Utilizing an approach that leverages Agile software development and DevSecOps enables this change. Agile development improves the underlying processes and mechanisms for how to define specifications, engages stakeholders, and develop technologies, while DevSecOps automates RMF controls creating a strong, continuous, risk management posture that when combined, will provide the most significant impact to the velocity of the software development cycle. To start this shift, RevaComm is partnering with the TRON Team in PACAF to create a Software DevLab that will allow Airmen to work side-by-side with industry experts. This co-op will provide PACAF with an integrated, agile software development practice running on a DevSecOps pipeline. As a result, RMF will be handled in an automated manner, the software delivery lifecycle will enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, and a faster feedback loop will be created to facilitate a continuous ATO.
