Description
ThermAvant Technologies proposes innovative, passive thermal management solutions for high power density laser diode pump modules. Phase I research primarily focuses on applying oscillating heat pipes to individual high heat flux diode emitters and to arrayed diode pump modules with a common heat sink. Innovations are proposed with respect to module materials and manufacturing processes as well as to kW class fiber laser pump assemblies to reduce size weight power and cost of implementing high energy laser weapons into real-world ground and aerospace platforms.
