Description
Vadum and K9 Helm propose to combine Vadum canine Hearing Protection (HP) technologies (including both passive and active protection modes) with K9 Helm Military Working Dog (MWD) helmet technologies. The K9 Helm products provide several additional functions (beyond HP) including eye protection, muzzle functionality, and mounting points for other sensors. The combined functionality supports frequent MWD training demands (which may entail exposures to high-impulse sound sources, such as blank rounds and flash bang rounds), while reducing premature canine hearing loss. Combination of Vadum HP technology with K9 Helm technology will allow the dogs to train using an equipment configuration that is very similar to that used in actual combat operations. Additionally, the headset will help to protect dogs from loud sustained sounds that are typical of military transport modalities, such as rotorcraft.
