GIRD SYSTEMS INC — Department of Defense STTR Phase II: A19C-T001

GIRD SYSTEMS INC — STTR Phase II award from Department of Defense.

Phase II STTR prototype / development signal

  • Phase II is where Department of Defense funds deeper R&D after feasibility. Incumbents with Phase II history are serious competitors on adjacent topics.
  • Use this award as past-performance context and to map customer organizations for STRATFI/TACFI-style transition planning.
  • Obligated amount $1,099,938 is consistent with substantial Phase II-scale effort; compare to related awards from the same agency.
  • Topic code A19C-T001 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description

The Army is seeking through this STTR program to develop high-dynamic-range, high-power-handling, and high-survivability high frequency (HF) radio receivers with significant enhancement in intrinsic interference and jamming resistance.  GIRD Systems is addressing this need with a novel interference mitigation (IM) technology which is inherently a wideband active device that 1) limits input power to the receiver, and 2) reduces or eliminates RFI power in the communication band. The device can perform IM on continuous wave (CW), frequency modulation (FM), and phase modulation (PM) interference, as well as mitigate interference in adjacent channels and even on interference spectra that completely overlap the signal of interest (SOI).  It exhibits sub-nanosecond latency, zero tracking error with respect to frequency or phase, and zero tuning time between frequencies within the band of operation.
