Description
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is ubiquitous in modern world as more and more electrical and electronic devices are used in daily life and the wide spread of wireless communications. The EMI has detrimental effects on various military electrical systems. This project will develop a high-performance ultra light-weight EMI shielding technology by using a novel 2D material with super high EMI shielding capability, including effective reflection, absorption, and multi-reflection. The novel 2D material has super high electrical conductivity and the 2D structure can be aligned to be perpendicular to the incoming EMI wave for effective reflection. The weight of the EMI shielding will be further significantly reduced by a new material morphology, which not only reduce the weight, but also enhance the reflection of EMI wave.
