Description
Valley Tech Systems has developed Hot Gas Valve (HGV) and thruster technology advancements, through the MDA SBIR program, that directly benefit future Standard Missile 3 (SM3) mid-course interceptor capabilities. During this phase I SBIR program we will evolve our HGV and thruster designs through application of more complex metamaterial technologies that will further increase future SM3 interceptor propulsion systems performance to counter next generation missile threats. In addition to benefitting future SM3 DACS and ACS interceptor propulsion capabilities our proposed Phase I SBIR metamaterial technology will fill a critical technology gap to enable a new upper stage booster capable of providing long-duration and high-G thrust throttling and impulse delivery required for future hypersonic cruise phase interceptors.
