Description
Commercial airlines maintain an average 95% first time fix rate (FTFR) which is critical to maintaining a 99% dispatch (readiness) rate. Likewise, the military aims to achieve over 80% readiness rates as mandated by Secretary of Defense Mattis in 2018. Corsair’s Digital Troubleshooting and Analysis System (DTAS) is an integrated suite of COTS platform-agnostic tools, proven commercially on 25 airlines, that work with existing systems to provide increased FTFR, increased readiness, and lower overall O&S costs. Key DTAS elements are ChronicX® (repeat failure detection), SpotLight® (knowledge-based troubleshooting), and Data ChronicX® (condition-based maintenance). On SBIRs, we demonstrate that DTAS can be used to improve Air Force platform readiness and DTAS defense commercialization viability. Phase I implements the DTAS’s ChronicX® module with mutually agreed-upon USAF platform data to uncover previously undetected trends, recurring problems, and emerging failure modes at both tail and fleet-level. This provides the foundation for Phase II DTAS Spotlight® and Data ChronicX® implementation and ultimately the Phase III defense commercialization on the selected platform. DTAS enables increased warfighter efficiency and readiness, reduces O&S costs by eliminating factors degrading FTFRs, eliminates repeat discrepancies due to faulty troubleshooting, reduces/eliminates removal and repair of RFI components, and enables preemptive maintenance.
