Description

The objective of this SBIR Topic AF161-002 is to develop a fast setting pavement repair technology that returns a damaged airstrip to full operation within the 60-minute application window. The repair materials must be transportable overseas via aircraft (i.e., contain no hazardous components). The patch cannot be overly burdensome to apply and not threaten human health. The repair patch must rapidly cure to support full load-bearing strength. Once laid, the solution must maintain sufficient durability to last several months. The repair must pose a small logistical footprint and require no specialized equipment or atypical storage requirements. Demonstration of environmental health and safety (EH&S) compatibility and cost effectiveness are also important factors.
