Description

Optimum Technologies, LLC proposes to study, design and ultimately develop an architecture that enables Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) services throughout the entire cislunar sphere. Our baseline concept adapts our proprietary, developmental PNT waveform and system architecture to serve the cislunar region and Earth by placing satellites in lunar-resonant “petal”, lunar, and super-GEO orbits. Each spacecraft hosts two rastered, electronically steered antennas that provide near-omni coverage and GPS-quality signal strength to spacecraft within 30 Earth-radii (Re) of the transmitting craft. This ensures a TLI-like trajectory to the Moon with at more than four links through lunar flyby with good Geometric Dilution of Precision (GDOP) performance.    Resilience to jamming and spoofing is provided through our proprietary waveform’s features, which include adaptive codes, frequency hopping and encryption. The system provides overall resilience to the enterprise by providing a second source of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) capability from lunar to LEO and surface operations.    The Phase I effort will focus on engaging users and assessing their needs to identify relevant use cases for further study and modeling as documented in our final report.  These uses cases will then serve as the basis to tailor and mature the design in subsequent phases.
