Description

The objective of Phase 1 will be to first model a) the characteristics of existing and potential energy storage technologies applicable to Hill Air Force Base, b) the tariff, regulatory, and utility requirements associated with real-time load shifting / peak shaving, c) the various loads and power distribution which will be the focus of the Phase 1 proto-type effort, and d) the cyber security / RMF / communication requirements necessary to perform a BCA through simulation which will validate >2MW of load shifting / peak shaving through an intelligent combination of load management and energy storage management. These models will be used to produce a simulation set which will form the basis of the BCA and will further allow Hill Air Force Base to evaluate a virtually unlimited number of additional use case scenarios without the need to invest in hard assets in advance of performance validation.
