Description
The Department of the Navy (DON) is seeking to drastically improve their logistics functions and thereby mission readiness by identifying, piloting, and integrating advanced technologies, processes, and tools into their shipyards, fleet readiness centers, and United States Marine Corps (USMC) Logistics Command (LOGCOM) sites. The DON has identified nine focus areas for improvement, including Focus Area 4: Robotics Material Handling. Currently, trained labor is consumed querying inventories, traveling to different locations, searching warehouses, and returning to the work site before actually using their skills to restore a platform. Stratom proposes the Autonomous Resupply Mule or AR-Mule which is a family of systems that can autonomously transport material from location to location within a depot or maintenance facility on demand.
