Description
The Army is seeking technological solutions to modernize the resupply methodologies in support of the Long Range Precision Fires mission set. A technical approach to automating ammunition resupply supports the Army’s goals of enhancing future operations through autonomous logistics solutions and human support designs. Stratom proposes the “XR-FAAR Swarm” Program (eXpeditionary Robotic-Field Artillery Autonomous Resupply) to deliver ammunition and supplies to the M109A7 Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH) system, replacing the function of the M992A3 Carrier Ammunition Tracked (CAT). Stratom has previously developed the eXpeditionary Robotic Platform (XR-P) specifically for autonomous munitions resupply missions. A swarm of modified XR-Ps tailored to the FAAR mission, which we’ll call XR-FAAR vehicles, will replace the CAT and will deliver ammunition in a flexible and just-in-time methodology directly from the supply point to the weapons system.
