Description

The TayCo External Ankle Brace is the world's only external, rigid, hinged ankle brace.  Allowing the user to wear his or her own shoe, the TayCo External Ankle Brace fits comfortably outside the shoe and provides maximum stability to those recovering from ankle injuries or those seeking to avoid ankle injuries. In a study from Indiana State University, the TayCo External Ankle Brace (set at full Range of Motion) prevented inversion 2.5 times better than a traditional internal ankle brace and prevented eversion 3 times better than a traditional internal ankle brace.  In addition, a Gait Lab study by Transcend Orthotics of 18-79 year old patients, research found that the TayCo External Ankle Brace did not significantly alter a patient's Gait while walking, while the traditional walking boot significantly altered Gait (which could result in proximal injuries to the knee, back, and hip, instability, or slip and fall incidents). The TayCo External Ankle Brace has been worn successfully by over 5000 patients and prescribed by hundreds of physicians around the country.  In addition, it is a fixture on the athletic field, having been worn by 15 NFL Teams and over 60 NCAA teams.
