Description
For this PhaseII SBIR, Vcom3D,with its subcontractors, the University of Washington and IVIR, Inc.,will develop an Advanced Female Trauma Training System (AFTTS) with realisticfemale anatomy, physiology, and behaviors. The AFTTS include both a Female Trauma Manikin and a tablet-based Virtual Instructor/Patient System (VIPS) thatcommunicates wirelessly with themanikin. The AFTTSwill includesensors that measurethestudent’s performance and also provide data to an embedded processor that runs real-time physiology models based on the BioGears open source Physiology Engine. It will also includeinnovativemethods for simulating breathing and other behaviors. The VIPSwill include both stand-aloneinstruction and integrated practice and immersivemodes that integrate with themanikin. It will includeseveral scenarios for training Combat Medic procedural and decision makingskills thatcan beloaded onto themanikin,wherethey run autonomously.
