Description

BetaFlix, Inc has established and tested an Integrated Training Management (ITM) platform for welding instruction within public community college systems. With feedback from US Air Force stakeholders, this ITM can be readily adapted and expanded to address military aircraft welder training needs. BetaFlix ITM combines secure storage, adaptive instruction and real time visualization of user performance. The BetaFlix ITM includes Total Learning Architecture (TLA) components which are DOD validated APIs. This includes: Competency and Skills System (CASS): CASS architecture is used to securely store and manage and share learning objectives of the organization and institution such as Airforce or American Welding Society (AWS). Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT): GIFT architecture exchanges data about the learner with CASS and other components to constantly assess progress and adapt instruction based on competency demonstrated. Learning Management System (LMS): Welding A2Z LMS is built on Moodle architecture which integrates with GIFT and CASS to manage and deliver content, text, videos, assessment, serious games and virtual reality through web browser, mobile devices and VR glasses. Learning Record Storage (LRS) The LRS is a storage mechanism for xAPI statements. BetaFlix ITM’s LRS utilizes xAPI to achieve integration of data analysis with analytical engines.
