Description

The purpose of this proposal is to develop a high precision, low-cost ballistic glider capable of delivering approximately 5 kg of payload to landing zone less than 10 meters in diameter, and capable of launch altitudes greater than 10,000 meters above ground level. Many other groups have attempted to tackle this delivery problem; however, no adequate solutions tackling cost, precision, and capability has been actualized. The key differentiation is the use of highly stable rigid body gliders designed for civilian aerial delivery systems, that exhibit excellent stability and control allowing landings in complex terrain. This body design allows the quick adaption of COTS UAV flight controllers to provide active guidance, mission planning, and increased landing precision.
