Description
>Objective: Develop a communication protocol and linkage to allow for a seamless data integration from Legionarius’ bio-sensor infused garment into ATAK & BATDOK, which will address several gaps in far-forward tactical combat trauma treatment due to penetrating wounds. • Sensing: autonomously detects a penetrating wound • Signaling: connects to the ATAK network (specifically BATDOK) and sends a distress signal, triggering a Troop-In-Contact message. Pre-populates the BATDOK forms, and provides real-time medical data from the point of injury on. • Treating: The Legionarius system automatically applies pressure at the site of the wound to seal off the wound and reduce or stop traumatic hemorrhaging. >The So What: A paradigm shift in tactical combat trauma care: • Brings patient-focused trauma treatment to the point of injury, and improves prolonged field care • Instantly provides hemorrhage control by applying pressure on the penetrating wound, conserving fluids within body and extending the Golden Hour until Level II and III care is provided • Increases medic situational awareness on the battlefield • Reduces workload for medics in multiple casualties situations • Integrates and interacts with current gear and TCCC process
