Description
On behalf of the U.S. Air Force, AFRL’s Center for Rapid Innovation (CRI) sought a Command and Control (C2) capability to bridge the information gap and unify the many disparate data sources required for Situational Awareness (SA) and Decision Support in the maintenance and security operations of US ICBM missile fields. Watchtower is a data fusion and visualization environment that automatically ingests data from across the mission space, fuses the data, and provides a Common Operating Picture (COP) that can be configured to the various missions in this domain. These capabilities were originally developed by the Praeses Team via Contract FA8650-17-C-9209, “Modern Command Center for Missile Field Operations. This proposal is for the deployment and evolution of that system – Operational Watchtower. Via a follow-on contract, the Praeses Team will deliver a prototype of Operational Watchtower to missile field operators at the 341st Missile Wing, Malmstrom AFB, Montana, for extended user evaluation. Operational Watchtower will securely ingest, fuse, validate, and present data from numerous and disparate commercial and USAF Authoritative Data Sources (ADSs) across networks to support C2 with a focus on Situational Awareness.
