Description

SecureLogix is developing a cloud-based ability to detect malicious calls, including the ability to detect spoofing, robocalls, impersonation scams, and targeted social engineering. SecureLogix is developing a commercial capability, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate. SecureLogix believes that this capability will be of significant benefit to the DoD. The DoD is migrating their voice infrastructure to Voice over IP (VoIP), which enables use of this new capability. SecureLogix has a broad existing deployment of a legacy product throughout the Air Force. The legacy system cannot detect many current day threats and also does not have a user who can use the new data. The proposed project is focused on identifying new users of the system, who can take advantage of the additional threat information that the new solution provides. Candidate users of the new system and threat data are the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT) and also Cyber Defense Analysis (CDA) Weapon System Communication Security (COMSEC) monitoring teams, which currently use the legacy system for call recording. We believe both organizations could use the new threat information and also correlate with existing data, such as email-based social engineering.
