Description

Entering its 70th year of operation and providing national security, Air Force systems generating data are growing exponentially. Data generated from legacy and fifth generation aircraft, imagery from UAVs and satellites, and situational data from the battlefield are but a few examples. The volume of data being ingested puts massive pressure on traditional IT infrastructure and ultimately, results in decreased Airman readiness. Solving this problem at a systems level provides the Air Force with a tremendous opportunity to increase the readiness level, capacity, and lethality of our forces, while decreasing the cost to the American taxpayer. Trek10, a global leader in the design, build, and support of next generation, cloud-based software systems utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS), has distinguished itself in the private sector through the development of the Data Ingestion Engine (DigE). While the DigE has been successfully deployed and operationalized within the private sector, several key components have only recently became FedRAMP and GovCloud compliant. The timing of these critical releases provides the Air Force an opportunity to deploy the Air Force DigE (AF-DigE) on a wide scale to modernize the data ingestion, storage, and processing needs across the Air Force and provide a full-spectrum readiness.
