Description

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) top priority is warfighter support, and the DLA is firmly committed to a robust counterfeit mitigation strategy that protects our warfighters and the vital missions they perform. HNu Photonics, LLC (HNu) Color Holographic Quick Response (CHQR, pronounced “Checker”) technology combines RGB 3-layer QR codes with holographic imaging technology, and is as robust as DNA encryption without all the expense and limitations. CHQR is an Add-On modular software technology for existing scanners, tablets, computers and smartphones. In Phase I, HNu developed and demonstrated CHQR on commercial storage batteries for a Renewable Energy company by recovering the holographic data layers and encrypted information. Letters of support from potential manufacturing and distribution partners were secured including Lockheed-Martin and Seagull Scientific (producer of BarTender™). The primary objective of Phase II is to take the Phase I proof-of-concept and apply and validate in real-world products and parts. The CHQR software module can be run on any computing device, and CHQR labels can be printed on a standard label printer. Additionally, a new handheld scanner using HNu’s proprietary Holographic Dispersive Element and Holographic Decryption Software will be prototyped.
