SenseICs Corporation — Department of Defense SBIR Phase I: A18-018
SenseICs Corporation — SBIR Phase I award from Department of Defense.
Phase I SBIR feasibility signal
- Phase I awards fund proof-of-concept work. For capture teams, they mark early interest from Department of Defense in a technical approach.
- Watch for Phase II follow-ons from the same firm/topic family — that conversion path is where budgets and transition pressure rise.
- Obligated amount $149,194. Cross-check similar awards in the same agency and technology tags for going-rate context.
- Topic code A18-018 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description
We propose an innovative concept to develop a novel, next generation, readout integrated circuit (ROIC) architecture to be used for Infrared (IR) High Dynamic Range (HDR) applications. The HDR ROIC will provide a reconfigurable readout architecture using a column adjustable per-pixel gain selection to allow on-the-fly wide dynamic range capability with column-parallel analog to digital converters (ADC). The signal-level adaptable processing will utilize the ADC Full-Scale (FS) dynamic range across all signal levels using a novel approach in the per column readout to be described in detail in the technical volume. The ROIC will also provide intelligent context adaptive sensing (ICAS) functionality to optimize operation over varying scene conditions.
