Description

As sensors on the battlefield increase at an exponential rate, the amount of information available to Commanders and Staff of Army Mission Command is, at best, overwhelming. New technologies are emerging, specifically in Augmented Reality (AR), that show great promise to not only helping manage and share information to the Commanders at all levels, but also effectively increase their Situational Awareness (SA) resulting in the capability to execute missions with higher success rates, lower loss of life, reduced time frames, less necessary resources/troops, and reduced fratricide/collateral damage. The ultimate endeavor will be to provide an all-encompassing display approach for mission commanders that gives them the perfect “god’s eye” view of the battlefield, In Phase II, Creative Microsystems Corp (CMC) will design a demonstration AR system targeted at Mission Command Applications. Using a holistic approach that encompasses all aspects of the user experience, CMC will produce the hardware, software and display philosophy to successful implement AR technology for increased situational awareness and improved decision making abilities.
