QMAGIQ LLC — SBIR Phase I award from Department of Defense.
Phase I SBIR feasibility signal
- Phase I awards fund proof-of-concept work. For capture teams, they mark early interest from Department of Defense in a technical approach.
- Watch for Phase II follow-ons from the same firm/topic family — that conversion path is where budgets and transition pressure rise.
- Obligated amount $100,000. Cross-check similar awards in the same agency and technology tags for going-rate context.

Description
QmagiQ, LLC proposes to partner with The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. to experimentally study radiation effects on antimony-based strained layer superlattice (SLS) photodiodes that have shown remarkable performance improvements in recent years. QmagiQ's SLS infrared focal plane arrays (FPAs) are already designed to be radiation-hard to some degree. In Phase I, we will measure how rad-hard the latest FPAs actually are. In Phase II, we will further improve hardness via changes to the detector structure and use of a readout multiplexer specifically designed for high radiation hardness. Several rad-hard SLS FPAs will be delivered to DOD for evaluation. Approved for Public Release | 16-MDA-8917 (15 November 16)
