Description
GVSC Sustainment Engineering has requested information for a project to replace Lamp, Halogen 12360840-1 due to stock issues. MWV has met with the team and understand the request. Based upon initial concept discussions, MWV has the ability to design and supply a replacement solution. This will include removing existing Lens, Lamp, Reflector and all hardware needed for these items. MWV will then replace those components with a new silicone lense, PCB with a singluar LED and an adaptor harness that can be plugged directly into the existing socket. By using silicone as the material of the Lens, we would study the possibility of removing any additional gasket material or component against the shield. Reusing existing shield 7972357, this solution can be intergrated into sub assembly and implemented at both the manufacturing location and for in the field repairs and upgrades. With the use of the socket adaptor, this will not require any additional tools. Hard wire solutions can be implemented at the assembly of new lamps if desired.
